What can possibly be wrong with my furnace? What can possibly be wrong with my furnace? The temperature keeps dropping even though i set the temperature at 68F, and the furnace won't run to raise the temperature back to 68F. So, why? I am sure it is a gas furnace, and i don't think i need to reset it because it was running well just last night. This has occured several times, and i know the furnace is not broken but the temperature automatically drops even though i set to hold the temperature at 68F. If it's not the filter you might check to make sure the furnace doors are on correctly there a switch that is usually on the door that if its not depressed won't allow the furnace to kick on. Something blocking a flue (vent) can cause the furnace to kick off (again at the pressure relief switch) Other than those simple things that you can check yourself you should call a HVAC guy.
